Adetiran, an Indigene of Igbajo in Osun State Composed the popular NYSC Anthem in 1984 while serving as a Corp member at the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

The composer of the National Youth Service Corps’ (NYSC) Anthem, Wole Adetiran has died at the age of 74.

The reportedly died on Friday night.

He composed the NYSC Anthem, titled: “Youths Obey the Clarion Call.”

Adetiran, an Indigene of Igbajo in Osun State Composed the popular NYSC Anthem in 1984 while serving as a Corp member at the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

He was also a member of the Celestial Church of Christ where he was the National Music Director for the CCC Worldwide.

Adetiran studied music at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The Ogun State NYSC Coordinator, Dr Belinda Faniyi, confirmed the death of Adetiran.

It was gathered that the deceased had been battling prostrate cancer for years.
