Delta man Kome Ogaga kills boy while testing gun
A 27-year-old man, Kome Ogaga, has been arrested by the police in Delta for shooting 11-year-old boy, Hossana Merrit, dead while testing a locally made gun in Ozoro area of the state.
Ogaga had ran away after the incident which occurred on 22 August.
But he was found and handed over to police after a tweet on the incident by Bright Edafe, the Delta State police Command Spokesperson.
Odafe had posted a picture in which Ogaga was shown holding a gun he allegedly used to kill the 11- year -old boy, calling for information that could lead to his arrest.
“This suspect Kome ogaga age 27years while testing a locally made gun, shot and killed one 11year old boy Hossanna Merritt. The suspect abandoned his house and ran away. Pls whoever knows his whereabouts should help so that the little boy can get justice,” he had said in the tweet.
On Tuesday, Edafe, announced that Ogaga was apprehended by a relative and handed over to the police after his tweet went viral.
“The command has arrested the suspect kome ogaga who shot and killed 11year old hosanna in Ozoro on 22/8/2022. He was brought to the station today by a relative after he saw our tweet that went viral. Tanks to everyone who retweeted.
“The little boy will get justice for sure now” he added as he expressed appreciation to those who retweeted his earlier tweet.
