Kidnapped Royal Father Released

The Rivers Police Command has announced that the abducted cousin of Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, former governor of Bayelsa State, King Oweipa Jones Sere JP Ebenanaowei of Ogboin Kingdom Bayelsa State, has been set free.

The paramount ruler was kidnapped last Sunday, 26 June in Emohua, Emohua Local Government Area of the state.

According to a press statement by Ben Ugwegbulam, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, the paramount ruler was released this morning by his abductors.

He did not reveal in what part of the state the victim was released.

He said the freedom ” follows the persistent raid, arrest and pressure on the suspects by the police, operatives of the State Security Service, SSS, and military teams.

He said further investigation continues.
