“We are still keeping to the tracks on our desire to host and win, and win convincingly,” he said.

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival (NSF) says it has continued to improve on observed logistics challenges since the beginning of the event.

The 21st NSF tagged “Delta 2022” holding in Asaba began on Nov. 28 and with more than 14,000 athletes battling for medals in various sports events.

Some stakeholders had told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the organisers were not meeting up on the logistics.

But Charles Aniagwu, Chairman of the LOC Sub-Committee on Media and Publicity, says the festival’s 11 Games Villages and seven event venues are now wearing a better look.

“Regarding the venues, we continue to take steps, based on the information provided to us to improve the conditions of different venues.

“We have set up a fun centre, which is functioning 24 hours daily. If you have not visited the place, try and do,” said the LOC spokesperson.

Aniagwu, who is also the Delta Commissioner of Information, further reiterated the desire of the state to host and win.

“We are still keeping to the tracks on our desire to host and win, and win convincingly,” he said.

The medals table as of Wednesday evening showed that Delta has hauled 146 gold medals, with Bayelsa trailing about 40 medals behind.

The sports fiesta will end officially on Saturday.
