Jordan McSweeney who brutally killed a law graduate, Zara Aleena, 35, in the Eastern London Ilford on June 26 is due to be sentenced today.

The serial female abuser McSweeney allegedly stalked the law graduate as she walked home from an evening with friends, before he ambushed her during the early hours of June 26 in Cranbrooke Road.

According to MyLondon, Aleena was dragged into a driveway, where he repeatedly stamped and kicked her body, leaving her with serious head injuries. He also sexually assaulted her during the frenzied attack before leaving her for dead.

The news medium reports that this morning, the court heard details of the brutal attack McSweeney subjected Zara to. It also heard how McSweeney had been kicked out of a Wetherspoons pub after drinking too much, before spending the night ‘determined to find a woman to attack’ and followed four other women before settling on Zara as his victim.

“CCTV was played in court of McSweeney’s movements before the attack, as well as video of the horrific assault itself, during which he grabbed her from behind, dragged her onto the driveway and assaulted her. During the attack, Zara fought back as hard as she could but McSweeney overpowered her. He also took her belongings, and sexually assaulted her. He also returned to her body multiple times, before walking off and discarding her belongings.

“Neighbours witnessed the terrifying attack and alerted the emergency services at 2.44 am after discovering her body. At the time she was partially naked and struggling to breathe, with her belongings scattered along the road. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she tragically passed away after arriving at the hospital.

“Meanwhile, McSweeney made his way back to his caravan in Valentines Park and was caught on CCTV disposing of his bloodied clothing the following day. After an image of him was released, he was recognised by another police officer and was arrested on June 29. During his arrest he became aggressive and claimed to have ADHD and split personality disorder.

“After he was arrested on June 27, McSweeney made only “short, grumbled and unintelligible comments” under caution before disclosing that he was on medication for ADHD and suffered from split personality disorder. He then became very aggressive and threatened police officers saying ‘we’re going to get fighting then’ and ‘just because I’m in cuffs, don’t think I’m, I’ll bite your face off cuz… it’s not a joke.’.

“He remained silent in interviews and closed his eyes as if trying to fall asleep and when asked about the murder of Zara, he yawned loudly and told the police that they were boring him”, the medium reports.

It also informs that a post-mortem examination concluded that she had died of a traumatic brain injury, prolonged neck compression and blood loss. “In short, she had been stamped and strangled to death,” the prosecutor said.

It also informs that the sentencing hearing was delayed this morning after McSweeney refused to enter the dock because ‘he didn’t want to relive the incident’ after learning that the CCTV was to be played in court.

He is expected to receive a life sentence.
