Police present N26m to families of deceased officers

The Borno Police Command has donated N26 million to the family members of twelve officers who died in active service in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdu Umar stated this while presenting cheques to the beneficiaries on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
He said the gesture is the sequel to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba-Alkali, as part of the Force’s commitment towards improving the welfare of police and family members of deceased personnel.
Umar commended the IGP for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to use the money to fend for their families.
Some of the beneficiaries lauded the gesture, adding that it would g a long way toward improving their social and economic well-being.
