Traders Cup: Manager Relishes Zone G ’s Success
After defeating Zone F football team in the final of Traders’ Cup, team manager of Zone G football team, Godday Onuegbu, attributed the team’s success to hardwork, teamwork and discipline.
Zone G football team defeated Zone F football team in 5-4 penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in an encounter watched by a large crowd at Loco football pitch,Yaba, Lagos State.
Onuegbu expressed gratitude to God for the team’s victory in the high tension soaked match. He said the doggedness and dedication of his players helped the team to lift the cup.
“ It was a hard victory for us. We conceded late equaliser and I almost had a heart attack. But I thank God we came out victorious in the penalty shootout,†he said.
Speaking with GSG, Chairman of Lagos Mainland Autopart Association, Pius Umeh, expressed satisfaction with the success of the competition.
He said the competition was organised to discover young players that will reprsent the association in the forthcoming MTN Traders Cup.
“I am impressed with the two finalists. Both teams played well but the better side won the game,†he said
