FIFA Symposium: Ikpeme To Represent Nigeria In Germany —Maigari
As one of the ways to ensure that women football becomes more formidable in tactics and techniques, the Nigeria Football Federation has mandated Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, the head of technical department of the football body, to represent Nigeria at the FIFA Symposium in Germany.
P.M.Sports gathered in Abuja that the Chairman of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Aminu Maigari, authorised Ikpeme to fast track his travelling to Germany for the FIFA Women’s Football symposium, which begins today to enable Nigeria has a high ranking football administrator instead of Eucharia Uche, the coach of the Super Falcons, representing the country.
“The FIFA symposium is being organised to discuss the future of the women football in the areas of tactics, techniques, marketing, organisation of competitions ,the local leagues in various member states. Therefore it is necessary for the NFF to have a high ranking officer in the technical department to represent Nigeria†Maigari said.
He further informed that the future of women’s football in the country judging by the performance of the Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s world cup in Germany.
“We are satisfied with the performance of the team. The future is great for women football in Nigeria and the NFF will ensure that the game continues to grow,†he added.
It would be recalled that the super falcons crashed out of the tournament, loosing gallantly to France and Germany 1-0 respectively before paying back Canada in the same coin as they left Germany with their heads high, having 3points in their kitty.
