Sokoto: APC wins 2 Senate, 8 Reps seats

Results of the National Assembly supplementary elections conducted in Sokoto State have shown that the All Progressives Congress, APC has won two senate seats while the Peoples Democratic Congress, PDP won one seat.

Also, the APC won eight out of the even House of Representatives seat while the APC won three seats into the Green chamber.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Sen. Aliyu Wamakko of the APC as the winner of the Sokoto North Senate seat.

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of PDP was also declared the winner of the Sokoto South Senate seat.

Also, Ibrahim Lamido of APC won the Sokoto East Senate seat with 112,764 votes.

He defeated Gwanda Shuaibu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 107,834 votes.

The APC also won eight out of the 10 House of Representatives seats included in the supplementary election.

Alhaji Sani Yakubu of the APC was declared the winner of Gudu/ Tangaza Federal Constituency seat with 23,473 votes while

Shehu Nasiru of the APC also won the Dange-Shuni/Tureta/Bodinga Federal Constituency seat with 40,994 votes while in Wurno/Rabah Federal Constituency the incumbent Ibrahim Al-Mustapha of APC won with 23,497 votes.

Also, Bello Ambarura of the APC won the Gwadabawa/Illela Federal Constituency seat with 31,374 votes.

Abdullahi Kalambaina of APC was also re-elected in Kware/Wamakko with 43,344 votes.

Also, APC candidate Bala Abubakar won in Sokoto North/Sokoto South Constituency.

The others APC candidates and the federal constituencies they won are Sa’adu Nabunkari, Binji/ Silame Constituency, and Jelani Danbuga, Isa/Sabon Birni federal Constituency.

Abdussamad Dasuki of the PDP won the Tambuwal/Kebbe federal Constituency seat, while Bashir Gorau of PDP also won the Gada/Goronyo federal constituency seat.

Thus, APC currently has won two Senate and eight House of Representatives seats, while the PDP has one Senate and three House of Representatives seats in the state.
