More troubles are in the bag for the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari.

Trouble started for Yunusa Ari on Sunday after he usurp the power of the Returning Officer to declare Aisha Binani as the winner of the governorship election when the process has clearly not been concluded.

INEC immediately suspended the collation of results and summoned all Adamawa officials to Abuja.

The announcement by Yunusa Ari was also declared null and void.

On Monday, INEC announced his suspension.

However, the battle is not over yet for Ari as INEC moves to prosecute him.

After the meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday, the Commission wrote to the Inspector-General of Police for the immediate investigation and possible prosecution of the suspended REC.

The commission also requested the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to draw the attention of the appointing authority to the unwholesome behavior of the REC for further action.

INEC, however, confirmed that the collation process shall resume at a time to be determined by the Returning Officer.
