Gov. Badaru Abubakar dissolves cabinet

Gov. Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has dissolved his cabinet ahead of the May 29 transition and swearing-in ceremony of his successor.

This was announced in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Auwal Sankara.

The decision, it said, was imperative as the governor prepared to hand over the state administration to the Governor-elect, Umar Namadi, on Monday.

Gov. Abubakar, according to the statement, expressed satisfaction with the achievements of his administration and emphasized the need for a seamless transition.

“We have accomplished significant milestones during our tenure, and I am proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by my cabinet members.

“As we prepare for the handover, I have taken the decision to dissolve the cabinet with immediate effect to allow the incoming administration to commence their work promptly.”

The transition process according to the statement, will involve comprehensive briefings and handover notes to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities.
