American actor, Richard Treat Williams, has reportedly passed on after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle in Dorset, Vermont.
He was 71.
His longtime agent, Barry McPherson, confirmed the unfortunate news to Hollywood reporters on Monday.
Citing a fire chief in Dorset, Jacob Gribble, the People magazine stated that the accident took place when a car turned into Williams on Route 30.
According to the source, Williams was the only person hurt in the accident, and that he was airlifted to a hospital in Ticonderoga, New York.
But he didn’t make it to the hospital. He was confirmed dead on arrival.
Although his break-out role was for the 1979 movie Hair, his most popular role was in Everwood when he played a neurosurgeon who moved his family from New York City to Colorado.
He appeared in all four seasons and was nominated for SAG Awards in 2002 and 2003 for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series.
Williams is survived by his wife, actress Pam Van Sant, and their two children, Gille and Ellie.
