Spacey faces indecent and sexual assault accusations, as well as the more serious charge of inducing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Oscar-winning actor, Kevin Spacey arrives in court on Wednesday to begin his four-week trial on a dozen sex offence allegations.

Spacey faces indecent and sexual assault accusations, as well as the more serious charge of inducing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

His trial at Southwark Crown Court in London is set to begin with jury selection, though the prosecution case may not begin until later this week or next week.

Spacey, who won Oscars for best actor in “American Beauty” (1999) and best supporting actor in “The Usual Suspects” (1995), worked as creative director of London’s Old Vic theatre from 2004 to 2015.

Prosecutors in the United Kingdom first confirmed he was facing charges in May 2022, saying he was accused of five attacks between March 2005 and April 2013—four in London and one in Gloucestershire, in the west of England.

They involved one man in his forties and two males in his thirties.
