Young Nepal Social Worker expanding his initiative in over 20 countries

Ujawal Jha, Born and raised in a small town in Balwa Municipality Ward No 10, Mahottari. Madhes Province, Nepal is a renowned social worker, who has served in various fields.

Ujawal Jha completed his basic education at Shree Janta Primary School, Dhamaura, Mahottari, Nepal, and furthered his secondary education at Shree Janta Secondary School Banauta, Mahottari, and finally completed his higher education at Tribhuvan University.

As a social activist, Ujawal Jha has been working with the motive to enhance people’s knowledge base. He has written lots of articles and published on different phenomena sharing his thoughts and opinion on different issues and occasions. Likewise, He has addressed and contributed to the positivity of his society.

One of Ujawal’s notable achievements is his initiative to provide quality education to underprivileged children. Recognizing the transformative power of education, he established a network of schools in remote areas, offering a nurturing environment and comprehensive education to children who would otherwise have limited access to learning opportunities. Through his dedication, countless children have been empowered to break free from the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.

Reports from Rajdhani (newspaper) has it that, he lobbied the government to make changes to the way underprivileged cases were processed in the court system, helped establish a probation office through his organization, and it became the first probation and welfare officer in his community in Nepal and later he extended the programs to other neighboring Asian countries.

Ujawal was not the first to start with the initiative, but he was the first to bring his concerns to the government. Pressing for change in the system, he was also instrumental in the passage of several pieces of legislation concerning offenders rights

“I have never been a very religious person,” he told the Nepali Times newspaper in 2020. “I am neither against religion nor for it.” He found inspiration in socialist writers who lambasted the ruling capitalist class whom he thought were responsible for poverty in the world. And he did not see why work to alleviate suffering should be restricted to Nepal. In 2021 his Foundation develop an initiative to over 20 countries including outside of Asia.

According to him, his religion is serving humanity and he believes that all the religions of the world have their basis in humanity

One of the beneficial of his initiative, Balapuspika Batsa said. His work extends beyond education and healthcare. He has been at the forefront of community development projects, advocating for sustainable practices and creating livelihood opportunities for marginalized groups. His initiatives have empowered local artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth and social empowerment within his communities.
