Trending video: Moment Akpabio told Senators money sent to their accounts to enjoy holiday

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has been caught on video saying certain money has been sent to Senators’ accounts by the Clerk of the Upper Chamber to enable them enjoy their holiday.

The video which surfaced on social media on Wednesday has caused serious stir and bashing from members of the public.

In the video, Akpabio said “In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the clerk of the national assembly.”

But he was quickly told that he was on a live broadcast and he quickly withdrew his statement and replaced it with another.

“I withdraw that statement. In order to allow you to enjoy your holiday, the Senate President has sent prayers to your mailboxes to assist you to go on a safe journey and return,” he said.
