To pave the way for the construction of Ijegun-Ijagemo Road, Caterpillar machines are currently having a field day bringing down all properties that could hinder the work.
Properties affected include fences, shops and residential or commercial buildings that fall within the construction site.
The worst hit are the Ijegun town hall, a filling station near the town hall and the Ijagemo Central Mosque which was turned into rubble completely.
Also brought down was a part of the filling stations at Ologun- Ijegun and Baptist B/stop, Ijagemo and a mast belonging to a GSM service provider inside Ijagemo.
The Lagos State Government had invited stakeholders to a meeting at the Alausa Secretariat on 26th April 2023 during which the issue of compensation was settled with the affected landlords.
