Political, Human Rights and civil society leaders on Tuesday 5 August 2023 gathered at at Alhaji Eko House, Iyana Church, Ibadan, Oyo State for the 8th day Fidau Prayer held for the mother of pro-democracy activist, Comrade Awa Bamiji, Madam Rafatu Agbeke Oyebamiji.
Mama Oyebamiji passed on at the age of 98 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Monday 28 August 2023.
Among visitors to the Oyebamiji Family and those who have sent condolence messages across are President Bola Tinubu, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Prof. Soji Adejumo, HRM Eze Dr Goodluck Obi ( JP), Chief Asari Dokubo and the Ige Family.
Others are Comrade Kunle Famoriyo, Ayo Afolabi, High Chief Lekan Alabi, Comrade Shehu Sani, Nike Ransome-Kuti, Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, and Barrister Femi Falana, SAN, among others.
