Tems earns spot on 2023 Times 100 Next List

Tems, the Nigerian international music star, has achieved a remarkable milestone by being included in the 2023 Times 100 Next List.

This prestigious list celebrates 100 young individuals from around the world who are making significant contributions and shaping the future in various fields, such as health, climate, business, sports, and the arts.

Tems shares the 2023 list with renowned American music producer Metro Booming and the breakout rap sensation Ice Spice. Notable figures like Kali Uchis, Hailey Bieber, and Peso Pluma are also among those recognized.

Tems gained widespread recognition after her stellar performance in Wizkid’s hit track ‘Essence,’ propelling her to international stardom. She made history as the first Nigerian female singer to win a Grammy Award, specifically for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023 for her work on Future’s ‘Wait For U.’ Additionally, she made her mark by debuting at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, a first for a Nigerian artist.

Her achievements don’t stop there; Tems has also clinched three BET awards and received an Oscar nomination for her songwriting on Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me UP.’
