In a recent Twitter interview with renowned activist and author Reno Omokri, Nigerian musician Naira Marley has responded to allegations and concerns regarding his involvement in the tragic death of fellow artiste Mohbad.

The interview delved into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death and the video that had been circulating online in which Mohbad expressed thoughts of suicide and threats from Marlian music.

According to Naira Marley’s responses in this interview:

1. He claimed that he had been out of Nigeria since August 1st and was with his family during that time.
2. He stated that Mohbad had left Marlian Music in 2022 and that they had not prevented him from releasing music as he was working with a PR firm.
3. Naira Marley denied any involvement in Mohbad’s death and expressed shock upon hearing the news of his passing.
4. He said he was not aware of the video in which Mohbad expressed concerns about death threats from Marlians and that he had tried to get help for Mohbad when he learnt about it.
5. Naira Marley mentioned that he recorded conversations with Mohbad when he found out about the suicide concerns and went to meet Mohbad and his parents to address the situation.
6. According to him, Mohbad‘s parents were aware of the issues he was facing, and he advised them to take care of their son.
7. He stated further that the video going around the social media of him discussing in a room with Mohbad’s parents was when he was advising them to take care of him after noticing that he was not okay.
