Humility is like a waste of time – Asake (Video)

Renowned singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, has recounted an instance where he was undervalued due to his excessive humility.

In a circulating video on social media, Asake discussed with a group of friends the notion that being overly humble can lead to being taken for granted.

He stressed that displaying too much humility often results in disrespect.

Drawing from personal encounters, Asake expressed that when someone exhibits egoism, they are perceived as unapproachable, leading others to place higher regard on them.

He remarked, “To me, humility is like a waste of time. People don’t appreciate it.  At the end of the day, life is about your perception. That is how I think. It’s my world.”

He shared experiences of attempting to let others form their opinions about him through humility, only to find it unappreciated.

As an artiste, he noted that being humble in certain situations could lead to being overlooked, whereas having a sense of self-importance could garner more favour.

Asake suggested that people are more inclined to observe one’s actions rather than witness displays of humility.

Thus, he advocated for focusing on one’s objectives without concern for perceptions of humility.
