JOM Charity’s CEO, Josephine Oboh-MacLeod, brimmed with massive pride as she recently shared the organization’s 2023 accomplishments and unveiled exciting plans for 2024.
“2023 for JOM Charity SCIO was a tale of relentless community spirit, artistic expression, and a steadfast commitment to making a humanitarian difference” she stated.
JOM charity SCIO tackled head-on challenges such as the rising cost of living in the United Kingdom with the Cost of living alleviation and drug/alcohol abuse prevention awareness project, which ends February 2024 in collaboration with Touchzlife, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the Scottish Refugee Council amongst other projects.
“These projects saw to a successful art and well-being, drug and alcohol abuse prevention awareness, enriching communities beyond material concerns in 2023”.
Other collaborations were with organizations such as Women’s Integration Network, (WIN) TESCO, Kakofoni Foundation Nigeria, Milngavie Old People’s Association, and Twechar Healthy Living Centre amongst others solidified JOM Charity’s dedication to inclusivity and holistic well-being.
The Charity organization stood alongside the Coalition For Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) during the Black History Month celebration, lending its voice to the pursuit of equality. JOM Charity’s humanitarian activities also reached across the Atlantic in Africa by supporting American-based NGOs, Hands of Comfort, and the Voice of Hope Foundation with their humanitarian activities in Nigeria. The year ended with a successful JOM Charity Awards celebration.
Looking ahead, 2024 Oboh-Macleod promises a greater impact on society by JOM Charity.
She confirmed some of JOM Charity’s ambitious plans for 2024 to include piloting an innovative youth sanitary bank project that will address practical needs with ingenuity. Expanding the Charity’s artistic footprint with quarterly Art and culture projects within the UK and Nigeria.
Oboh-Macleod added that one of JOM Charity’s main agendas for 2024 is to Deepen collaborations with diverse partners from around the world.
“JOM Charity’s journey is driven by unwavering dedication and a passion for making the world a brighter place. Our aim for 2024 and beyond is to embrace communities, champion creativity, and strive for more just and vibrant humanitarian projects” she concluded.
