Vigilante Man In Court For Armed Robbery

A 26-year-old suspect, Bube Yakubu, who claimed to be a vigilante, was on Thursday arraigned in Ibadan on a two-count charge of conspiracy and attempted armed robbery.

Police Prosecutor Adewale Amos had alleged that Yakubu, with others now at large, on May 24 at Akinyele area, Ibadan attempted to rob Munru Ifamakinde of his motorcycle.

He said the accused and his accomplices were armed with sticks and other dangerous weapons.

The Chief Magistrate, Fatima Badrudeen, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till September 9.
