A police officer seen in a video clip currently circulating on the social media demanding bribe from a a motorist has been identified as ASP Luka Bashayi.
Spokesperson for Lagos Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin revealed the identity of the rogue police officer on his X handle on Saturday.
He added that investigation has already commenced into the behaviour of the officer who was heard in the video calling out his bank account number to the motorist.
Hundeyin said, “We will not gloss over this. He is ASP Luka Bashayi, serving at Ogudu Area Command.
“The Lagos Police Complaint Unit (CRU) has commenced actions on this,” the police image maker said.
In a video which went viral on Saturday, the police officer was seen demanding bribe from a motorist.
The officer insisted that the motorist would not leave unless he paid him the demanded bribe.
He said to the motorist, “Do sharp sharp and go now, if not, I will do my job.”
He called his bank account details to the motorist for him to transfer money before he would allow him to go. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
