Dele Oyewale, EFCC's spokesman, in a statement on Thursday said the suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in computer -related fraud.

At least 39 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benin, Edo State.

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC, swooped on the fraudsters on Thursday, April 4, 2024 and arrested them.

Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s spokesman, in a statement on Thursday said the suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in computer -related fraud.

He said items recovered from the suspected fraudsters included eight exotic cars – three Mercedes-Benz GLK, one Mercedes Benz C300 4 Matic, two Lexus ES350, Toyota Venza and Toyota Camry cars.

“Others are laptops and phones. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” Oyewale said.
