Woman Urges FG To Tackle Bombings

Alhaja Risikat Oke, the Chairperson, Lagos State Women Advisory Council of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, on Sunday urged government to take urgent steps to tackle the spate of bombings in the country.

Speaking at the annual Family Day and 25th anniversary of the Lagos chapter of the organisation, she said insecurity in the country was precipitating frightful feelings among the people

Oke, who condemned the bombings allegedly masterminded by the Boko Haram sect, called for urgent steps to stem the incidence.

According to her, the ugly development is scaring away foreign investors from the country and compounding the high rate of unemployment in the country.

She said the council would continue to enlighten women on their responsibilities as mothers as well as their commitments to the development of the society.

Also speaking, Alhaji Nurudeen Okuleye, the Chairman of the society, urged government to be proactive in solving the issue of insecurity.

“The problem of insecurity in the country today needs urgent solution,” he said.
