The Edo State Ministry of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), has taken custody of the
four-year-old girl simply identified as Sarah, whose nude photos were posted by her father.

In a video that went viral, the father of the little girl, Musa Suleiman and one other person were seen in a hotel room at Auchi, Etsako West local government area, shooting nude pictures of the girl and posting it on the internet.

Following wide condemnation that trailed the video, operatives of the Edo State Police Command tracked down the 28-year-old father of the little girl and arrested him.

The State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, later told journalists that the State Commissioner for Gender and the office of the State First Lady indicated interest in the case.

Adegboye then handed over the girl to the State Commissioner for
Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Christabel Elawu for special custody.

He further disclosed that the suspect remained under discreet investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department to ascertain the full extent of his involvement in this distressing incident.

The handling over ceremony was witnessed by the Command’s management team, officials and staff of Ministry of Gender-Based Violence and members of the Edo State Coalition of Civil Societies.
