Two bus conductors identified as Isah Abubakar and Abdulrazak Salihu has been sentenced to three months imprisonment each for fighting in public and constituting a nuisance in Jos, Plateau State.

The conductors were arraigned before an Area Court in Jos on Tuesday by the police.

The police prosecutor, Insp Monday Dabit, told the court that information was received at the Laranto police station that the convicts were engaged in a fight behind the St Augustine Major Seminary in Jos.

Dabit said that during police investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime.

The police prosecutor, said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 83 of the Plateau State Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

The judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convicts after they pleaded guilty to the offence.

The judge, however gave the convicts an option of N 10,000 fine each or three months imprisonment for disturbing the peace of the public.
