‘God, Not Judiciary, Is Last Hope Of Common Man’

The nation’s judiciary came under attack in Makurdi, Benue State when a Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mr Bernard Hom maintained that God and not the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.

Hom who made this remark at the commencement of this year’s legal week in Makurdi, noted that the judiciary is undergoing trial and not on fire as insinuated in certain quarters.

He lamented that the legal profession has failed and this has translated to the failure of the judiciary.

The SAN observed that the judiciary is going back to technicalities which the common man is not interested in and urged judges to be always guided by their good conscience in delivering judgments.

In his remarks at the occasion, the State Chief Judge, Justice Iorhemen Hwande said the state judiciary has recorded giant strides with elevation of over seven judges from the state to serve in election petition tribunals in different parts of the country.

He urged the judges serving in election tribunals to make sure that they live above board , by making sure that justice is done to everybody that comes before them
