US flights grounded over communication problem

Major U.S. carriers were on Friday morning grounded over a communication glitch.

Airlines affected included American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines.

The Federal Aviation Administration  said  the ground stops issued would affect all flights from the airlines. the ground stop impacts all flights from the airlines, regardless of their destination.

Reuters reports that the ground stops were issued less than an hour after Microsoft resolved its cloud services outage that impacted several low-cost carriers.

There were also reports of massive online outages affecting travel, banking and news outlets around the world though it was not immediately clear if they were connected to the issue Microsoft had.
