Afam Osigwe leads new NBA national executive officers

Barrister Afam Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria has emerged the president-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) scoring with 20,395 to defeat his closest rival, Tobenna Erojikwe, who got 10,970 votes

With his victory, in the NBA election 2024 which was conducted online, Osigwe will succeed Yakubu Maikyau (SAN) as the President of the NBA.

In the other election for the new executives of the NBA, Sabastine Anyia defeated Bartholomew Aguegbodo to emerge as the first Vice-President of the Association while the second Vice-President was Bolatumi Animashaun who scored 26,534 votes to defeat ius Oiwoh, who scored 11,121 votes for the position.

The position of 3rd Vice-President was clinched by Mrs. Zainab Garba who garnered 23,550 votes to defeat Michael Olorunmola, who received 13,897 votes.

For the position of General Secretary Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara emerged winner with 25,713 votes, defeating Abdulwasiu Alfa, who received 11,730 votes.

The new Assistant General Secretary of NBA is Henry Ehi who scored 28,552 votes to defeat Oluwaseun Aka, who received 8,317 votes.

Also the new Treasurer for the NBA is Mrs. Blessing Udofa-Poromon with 17,998 votes to emerge winner for the position. She defeated Mbamala Chukwuemeka, who garnered 9,825 votes.

Mrs Bridget Edokwe was elected the new Publicity Secretary of NBA with 19,542 votes. Her closest challenger was Charles Ajiboye, who scored 10,989 votes.

Elected Assistant Publicity Secretary of NBA was Miss Ebiere Ekpese with 26,955 votes who defeated Lawrence Ayewa, who scored 9,690 votes to clinch the position.

In the same vein, Nyada Auta was elected Welfare Secretary with 18,369 votes, defeating Oaikhena Osagie, who scored 12,855 votes.
