Gunmen kill four cops, PoS operator in Imo

Four policemen and a PoS operator were killed by gunmen on Monday evening on Onitsha Road, Owerri, Imo State.

The Nation reports that a team of policemen attached to the Ogbaku Police Station chased the gunmen. But the gunmen opened fire on the policemen killing four of them

According to the report by The Nation, an eyewitness said: “The gunmen engaged the policemen in a shootout and four of the policemen including a POS operator were killed and they were covered in the pool of their blood.

Imo Police spokesman Henry Okoye also confirmed the incident to the Nation.

He said: “For now four police officers have been confirmed dead. Investigation is ongoing to unravel the miscreants responsible for the senseless attack.”
