Aregbesola Releases N462m For Food Production

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has approved the release of  N462.3 million for the enhancement of food production in the state.
Mr. Sunday Akere, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, made the announcement in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Osogbo.

It stated that the Osun State Agricultural Development Corporation (OSSADEC) and the Osun State Agricultural Development Programme (OSSADEP) would make use of the fund.

The statement quoted the commissioner as saying that N141.1 million would go to OSSADEC while OSSADEP would receive N321.2 million.

It added that the state government would provide N123.1 million for land preparation and construction of feeder roads to four farm settlements by the OSSADEC.

NAN reports that the farm settlements are located at Mokore, Ago-Owu, Esa-Oke and Iwo.
