Nigerian singer Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, who is also known as Blackface, has called for a reunion of Plantashun Boiz, a defunct music group.

Blackface, 2Baba then known as 2Face, and Faze were once members of a band called Plantashun Boiz. The band defunct after they split, launching their respective solo careers.

Formed in 2000, Plantashun Boiz disbanded in 2004 but briefly reunited in 2007 for an album.

Blackface had in several interviews accused 2Face of being responsible for their split. He also accused 2Face of stealing his hit song, ‘African Queen’ from him.

In a recent Instagram post, Blackface shared a nostalgic photo of the trio.

He also accompanied the post the question: “‘To be or not to be?’ @fazealone @official2baba @blackfacenaija @plantashunboizofficial, why not?”

He urged fans to join the mission, emphasizing that there is “unity is strength, not division”.

“#plantashunboiz The question now is “To be or not to be?” @fazealone @officialzbaba @blackfacenaija @plantashunboizofficial and why?” Blackface asked.

“My people oya make una talk put mouth for this matter! We are on a mission for world peace and it’s not a small-time thing! Unity is strength and not division Let’s go champs.”

Since 2015, Blackface constantly tackled 2Baba for recording 2004 hit ‘African Queen’ which he claimed he wrote.

In 2017, he argued that 2Baba “sabotaged” his career in the music industry.

But last year, Blackface extended an olive branch to 2Baba after asking the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker to forgive him for his “wrongdoings, knowingly or unknowingly”.

“So it is time for us to go to the next level. I want everybody to know this one. It is time to forget all these things that have been going on,” he had said.
