Nigerian singer Spyro has shared his journey towards embracing celibacy, revealing the inner struggle he experienced in his struggle with premarital sex.
In an Instagram post, the 33-year-old musician discussed the pleasure he derived from sex, juxtaposed with the guilt that followed.
Spyro admitted that despite the temporary satisfaction, each encounter left him feeling troubled and disconnected.
“Sex felt good till I could no longer bear struggling with my conscience,” he confessed.
“Every time I ‘FORNICATED,’ knowing I ain’t married to the person, I feel troubled, like a part of me gets taken right after.”
The artiste explained that after a period of deep reflection and prayer, he made the difficult decision to sever ties with those who tempted him.
This marked the beginning of his commitment to celibacy.
“I struggled for a while, but I kept praying for strength, and when the time came, I disengaged from all lingering connections at the time,” Spyro revealed.
He acknowledged that maintaining this commitment hasn’t been easy, especially when faced with temptations during his travels and interactions with promoters.
However, Spyro remains firm in his decision.
“It hasn’t been easy, especially when I travel and these clean girls begin to get funny around me, and promoters never make it easy too, but now they know. But yea, I am keeping this bed for ONE now,” he stated.
