Milo Clinic: Season 2 Begins Oct
The second edition of the Nestle Milo Football Clinic tagged ‘More Than Just Football’ will commence next month.
According to Dr. Samuel Adenekan, the Corporate Affairs Manager, the second edition, which promises to be more exciting and rewarding for the participants, has now been expanded to reach out to more champions in different parts of Nigeria, with regional screenings and clinic in Lagos, Ilorin and Enugu.
He noted that a record 2,000 participants will be screened in each region
Explaining the choice of theme, Dr. Adenekan said ‘More Than Just Football’, was deliberately chosen as the theme of the 2011 edition to emphasise that participants will not only learn world-class football fundamentals based on the unique proven scientific technique, but will also be equipped with fundamental skills for success such as determination, teamwork, confidence and discipline towards achieving their goals in the game called life.
He further said: “Registration for the clinic will be done through schools in the selected regions and it’s open to children from 10 to 15 years of age. The regional screening is slated to kick off in October at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu from 12th to 15th, then to Kwara Stadium, Ilorin from 19th to 22nd and finally in Lagos from 26th to 29th at the Campos Square, Lagos. In each region, the clinic will take place for three days. On the fourth day there’ll be an exhibition match.â€
that will feature the best 32 players from the clinic.
“Every participant will be nourished physically and mentally with the more delicious New MILO from start to finish. In addition, the most talented ones will be greatly rewarded with fantastic prizes, including bursary awards, certificates and medals.
“There will be so much football, so much learning, so much fun and much more delicious new MILO.â€
It will be recalled that in 2010, Nestle MILO expanded its support for and reach to future champions with the maiden edition of the Nestle MILO Football Clinic anchored by one of Nigeria’s foremost football living legends, Peter Rufai, popularly called Dodomayana, and other youth football development experts.
The clinic is based on unique, proven scientific techniques discovered after 15 years of extensive research in Europe. In the maiden edition, 22 lucky players were offered the opportunity to play international matches and get exposed to world class football techniques in addition to bursary scholarships provided them.
This sponsorship activity has become one of the important platforms through which MILO nourishes the ambitions of its consumers, he said.
