Nigerian singer-songwriter, Fireboy DML, has opened up about the great influence that his senior colleague, Wande Coal, has had on his music journey.
In a recent episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast, the YBNL signee shared his admiration for the legendary artiste, stating that Wande Coal played a pivotal role in shaping his career.
According to Fireboy, the first time he met Wande Coal felt like a “dream come true.”
“I become a child when he is around. He is a legend,” Fireboy said, stressing the impact of the encounter. “Meeting him was a blessing and a surreal moment.”
The Back n Forth crooner further credited Wande Coal as one of the reasons he ventured into music, noting that the veteran artist continues to inspire him.
In honour of Wande Coal, Fireboy paid tribute to him on his latest album Adedamola with a track titled “Wande’s Bop.”
