Okpebholo clinches Obaseki’s Oredo LG as INEC set to declare him Edo Governor-Elect

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has secured victory in Oredo Local Government Area, bringing his total wins to 11 out of the 17 LGAs announced so far.
With only one LGA result pending, the APC candidate has significantly extended his lead, making it mathematically impossible for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, to stage a comeback.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to declare Okpebholo the winner of the Edo governorship election shortly.
In Oredo, Okpebholo polled 30,780 votes, defeating Ighodalo, who garnered 24,938 votes. Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata finished third with 5,389 votes.
