Ailing Nigerian music director and cinematographer, ThankGod Omori Smith, popularly known as TG Omori has assured fans that he will make a comeback in 2025.

Boy Director, recently revealed that he had a failed kidney transplant, after his only brother donated one kidney to him.

TG Omori, who has been battling kidney disease, underwent a transplant on August 26 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos.

On August 30, the director expressed his determination to overcome his health challenges and revealed that he is recovering.

In a series of tweets on Monday via X, Omori posted a photo of himself and emphasised the importance of maintaining the right mindset, even in the face of illness.

“It’s mind over matter. If the mind is defeated, it’s only a matter of time before the body falls,” he wrote.

In another tweet, he stated, “Pain has no power over me”.

He also reassured his followers that he would be back in 2025. “I’ll be back in 2025. Stay in love!” he added.

The music director had been away from the public for some time and his absence has caused a lot of concern among fans.

In April, TG Omori announced that he has decided to stop smoking.

Announcing his resolution through his online platform, Omori shared, “Quit smoking today.”

Joining the ranks of Nigerian celebrities who have pledged to quit smoking, including Kizz Daniel, Tonto Dikeh, and Charly Boy, Omori aims to stick to his decision.

Last month, the award-winning music director wrote on his X handle, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me. Poor marijuana, they blame you for all my rasclaat. You wanna eat, I wanna live.”

Last year, TG Omori revealed that fake drinks left him hospitalized for the better part of the year.

”It’s all fun n jokes but fake drinks left me hospitalized for the most part of this year,” he tweeted.

Several celebrities including Timaya, BNXN have all called out Lagos clubs for selling fake drinks.

Born in Cross River State, Omori grew up in the Agungi area of Lagos. He began his career at age 20 after graduating from PEFTI Film Institute.

He has directed music videos for numerous artistes across various genres, including Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kizz Daniel, Fireboy DML, Falz, Timaya, Naira Marley, Asake, and many others.
