The Federal Government has announced Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as public holiday to celebrate the nation’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced the holiday on behalf of the Federal Government and extended congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad on this significant occasion.

In his remarks, Tunji-Ojo commended the resilience and dedication of Nigerian men and women, emphasising that their sacrifices would not be forgotten.

He encouraged citizens to reflect on the contributions of past heroes while drawing inspiration for future endeavours, underscoring that the Nigeria of our dreams could only be realised through unity.

Wishing Nigerians a joyous Independence Day celebration, Tunji-Ojo urged everyone to remain committed to the ongoing process of nation-building.
