S/West APGA Chides Obi, Okorocha Over Dissolution Of Exco

The southwest zonal caucus and state chairmen of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) have condemned the call by the Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi and his Imo State counterpart, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for the dissolution of the National Executive of the partym

They said the zone has absolute confidence in the current National Working Committee under the leadership of Sir Victor Umeh.

The zone of the party in a communique issued at the end of the caucus and chairmen’s meeting held in Abeokuta and chaired by the National Vice Chairman of the zone, Alhaji Tayo Sowunmi, condemned the call for the dissolution.

They said the rule of law should prevail in the restructuring of APGA rather than the rule of might.

The communique which was jointly signed by the National Organising
Secretary, Asst National Publicity Secretary for South West and Chairmen from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun and others, said, ”South West zone of APGA believes solidly in transparency and accountability in tandem with the law, and the need to audit the party’s account devoid of
political witch hunting.

“We, however, have taken exception to the untenable decisions taken by some stakeholders who are neither recognised by INEC nor party leadership as authentic members of APGA to restructure the party
without adhering to the constitution of APGA.”

The zone said it believes, “conscientiously in party discipline and directives based on strict adherence to constitution and not to
gubernatorial hijacking capable of infesting the party with political
viruses and destabilisation.”

The communique said the South West, “lend our unalloyed support to the current APGA NWC under the leadership of Victor Umeh and National Secretary, Alhaji Sanni Abdulahi Shinkafi as duly elected National Executive acceptable to us in the southwest unequivocally.”
