Kano Govt’s failure to meet doctors’ demands sparks indefinite strike

The Kano State chapter of the National Association of Government General and Medical Dental Practitioners says its members will commence an indefinite strike on Tuesday, October 1.
The association, according to its Secretary, Dr. Anas Hassan, said the strike was because of the failure of the state government to meet its demands.
“Despite reaching an agreement with the Kano State Government months ago which is June, to meet their demands, the government has yet to respond,” he said.
He said the Kano State Government had neglected to pay the Post-COVID-19 hazard allowance to the practitioners.
He also said the state government was owing doctors employed since September 2023.
