Tinubu swears in Kekere-Ekun as substantive CJN

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun  has been sworn in by President Bola Tinubu as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Her swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday  at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa.

The CJN who had been serving in an acting capacity  since August following the retirement of her predecessor, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, was confirmed  through voice votes by the senate on Wednesday last week.

Kekere-Ekun had during the screening  session by the senate, been asked questions bordering on judicial reforms.

She had declared that she had zero tolerance for  corruption within the judiciary.

She also said she would  ensure that under her leadership, all pre-election cases were concluded at the Court of Appeal.
