The Kwara State Police Command has announced that three dismissed police officers have been formally charged in court for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The officers, identified as Mr Abiodun Kayode, Mr James Emmanuel, and Mr Oni Philip, were brought before the court on 16th October 2024, in connection with the death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola.

The three offcers, who were dismissed from the force following an internal investigation, have now been remanded in prison custody, awaiting further court proceedings.

The charges stem from their alleged involvement in the fatal incident that led to the death of Ishola.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Kwara State Police Command is committed to ensuring justice in this case.

“All three have been charged to court and remanded in custody pending the continuation of the legal process,” she said, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.

The command reiterated its dedication to upholding law and order while ensuring accountability within its ranks.
