Woman Gives Birth To Twins After 18 Years Of Barrenness
It was joy galore in the family of the Ajewoles after Oladunmi gave birth to twins, boy and girl, after 18 years of barenness. To them it was simply a miracle and an act of God.
Johnson and Oladunni Ajewole, who reside at Ikotun area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, got married in 1993 and had since then been expecting the fruit of the womb until God answered their prayers and gave them twins this year.
To the Ajewoles, it was a bitter experience waiting for 18 years to give birth, but it turned out to be double joy for them as they had twins.
According to Oladunni, who spoke with P.M.NEWS, “We have prayed all kinds of prayers. I am a human being, I was worried and water was running through my veins, especially when none of us has medical problem.
“All we believed was that our problem was spiritual. We had gone to the best gynaecologist in Nigeria, a professor for that matter and there was no solution. The professor called us and asked us to look inward as there was nothing wrong with us as the test conducted showed that we were okay,†said Oladunni, who is a teacher.
“At times, we would go to the mountain for two weeks to pray and even fast,†she said, adding that some people around them had mocked them as they could not give birth to children.
She said she and her husband developed a very strong faith in God that He would surely meet their needs of having a baby.
To worsen the couple’s problem, armed robbers snatched their car on 11 June, 2010 but joy came one year after as Oladunni gave birth to twins exactly one year after their car was snatched by robbers.
According to her, she and her husband were attending the Laughter Foundation Church at Oregun where God visited them, adding that “God has surely given us laughter at the Laughter Foundation.â€
“I am so elated; in fact, on the day I gave birth, I received calls all through the night,†she stated.
Her husband, Johnson, an accountant said: “I thank God that he made this possible but it was not palatable for someone to wait for 18 years before giving birth to a baby. We have moved from one hospital to the other and from one church to the other seeking solution. It is good that we waited and had twins.â€
