President Tinubu described the Ondo election as a further test of the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) capacity.

President Bola Tinubu has urged candidates dissatisfied with the result of the Ondo governorship election to seek legal recourse through the courts.

Tinubu made the statement while congratulating the winner of Saturday’s election, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and commended the peaceful conduct of the election.

The President also extended his congratulations to Aiyedatiwa and other candidates from the 17 political parties for their maturity and purposeful conduct during the campaigns and election.

He attributed the success of the election to the civility demonstrated by the people of Ondo State.

He called on political actors to carry this spirit of orderliness into the post-election period.

President Tinubu described the Ondo election as a further test of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) capacity.

He commended the electoral body for meeting public expectations with early preparations, effective deployment of staff and materials, and the smooth handling of the election process.

The President also praised INEC for efficiently uploading over 98 percent of results on the same day as the election.

Furthermore, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Police Force, the National Civil Defence Corps, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the National Youth Service Corps, the military, and other security agencies for their professionalism in maintaining peace and order during the election.
