The retiring year 2024 saw some of the most callous and depraved minds who walked London’s streets convicted and put away in various prisons.

MyLondon, a London-based news website with a high reputation for capturing every crime committed in the City catalogued those most vicious criminal elements locked away in 2024 as follows:
Michael Costin‘s victims were so numerous. They filled the jury box on the other side of the courtroom. Each man a victim of the scoutmaster’s sexual abuse, and his attempts to bully them into silence. But silenced they were not. Thanks to their bravery, Costin was put away for 15 years.

Steven Sansom
When a dog walker found human remains in a South London park it shocked residents. Sarah Mayhew had been murdered and dismembered by a man only recently out of prison for murdering a cab driver on Christmas Eve 1998. That crime cost Sansom two decades inside, but the next judge who deals with him is likely to go for something longer. The biggest question now is: Why was he ever let out?

Edward Tully ‘has never taken a penny from the state’, boasted his barrister as he scraped the bottom of the mitigation barrel during his sentencing last month. Unfortunately, Tully has taken a 12-year-old girl’s life – a result of his inexplicable decision to drive home after a night out. The City trader splashed £1,500 on champagne and five-course dinners at Proud nightclub, then jumped in his Bentley and ran a red light with fatal consequences.

Anthony Fowler cut an odd figure turning up to court in military regalia. But it all started to make sense as victims of his abuse recalled his fascination with the American Civil War. His victims bravely recounted their abuse at his hands, crimes so depraved the pensioner is likely to die in prison.
