Lagos Assembly approves Sanwo-Olu’s nominees for LASIEC, LSEB, LSETF

The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of nominees put forward by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and other critical government agencies.

The confirmation came after a comprehensive screening conducted by a 12-member ad-hoc committee chaired by Chief Whip, Hon. Mojeed Fatai.

Addressing the House before the approval, Hon. Fatai stated that the committee meticulously reviewed the credentials and qualifications of each nominee, affirming their competence to hold public office.

Echoing his sentiments, Hon. Sa’ad Olumoh praised the nominees as “round pegs in round holes,” citing their outstanding credentials and professional expertise as strong assets for their respective roles.

The Assembly approved appointments for LASIEC, the Office of the State Auditor-General, the Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB), and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF).

Confirmed Appointees:

Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC):

  • Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile (Rtd.) – Chairman
  • Samson Ajibade – Member
  • Oluwo Akin Durojaiye – Member
  • Dr. Metilelu Olumide Olusola – Member
  • Aileru Abeeb Dapo – Member
  • Hon. Oladele Adekanye – Member

Office of the Auditor-General:

  • Mr. Adetola Muyiwa John – Auditor-General

Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB):

  • Engr. Balogun Kamaldeen Abiodun Temidayo – General Manager

Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF):

  • Mrs. Feyisayo Alayande – Executive Secretary

Deputy Speaker Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, who presided over the plenary session, highlighted the Assembly’s dedication to bolstering governance and ensuring effective leadership across the state.
