Nollywood veteran Segun Arinze has opened up about his decision to step away from the music industry, clarifying that it wasn’t due to failure but a deliberate choice to focus on his acting career.

Speaking on the show ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Arinze shared insights into his journey.

“I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued,” he explained. “I read theatre art at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. After school, I ventured into music on my own terms. When I decided to concentrate on my acting career, I gave it my all.”

Arinze, who released two albums during his time in the music industry, revealed plans to make a return to music.

However, he emphasized that his comeback wouldn’t be driven by commercial goals but by his passion for singing.

“I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. The voice is still there,” he said. “I will be going back to music, but I won’t be coming into it for commercial reasons. I will return to music just because I want to sing, not because I want to make money.”
