Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the November 16 Ondo State governorship election, has pledged that the committee will secure victory with no less than 80 percent of the total votes.
During the inauguration ceremony in Akure, Ondo State’s capital, Sanwo-Olu urged party leaders and members to rally behind the APC gubernatorial candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Acknowledging his past experiences leading the campaign in Ondo, Sanwo-Olu assured the party that the campaign council would operate within constitutional and professional boundaries to defeat rival parties.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support in empowering the APC National Campaign Council for this critical task.
“On behalf of my team, we promise to ensure a free, fair, and competitive election focused on issues, not sentiment or abuse,” he stated.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has made our campaign easier by demonstrating commendable leadership in his first 305 days in office. We will campaign vigorously for him and are determined not to disappoint our party and the people of Ondo State.”
APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje expressed confidence in a decisive victory for the ruling party, urging the newly inaugurated council to collaborate effectively with state and local campaign teams.
“We aim to create an enabling environment for a free and fair election that will lead to our party’s victory,” Ganduje emphasized.
“We must support Governor Aiyedatiwa to ensure he continues providing good governance. He is a lucky man and will remain so.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa, addressing the gathering, asserted his deservingness for reelection based on his performance over the past ten months, which included significant advancements in infrastructure, public utilities, agriculture, entrepreneurship, youth development, job creation, and security.
“We approach the November 16 election filled with hope and determination, as it represents a defining moment for our party, Ondo State, and Nigeria,” he remarked.
“Today’s event showcases our collective strength and commitment to securing victory. We believe that government is about the people, and we are dedicated to ensuring a peaceful and credible election where every vote counts.”
