Lagos Marathon Gets Date

Business Travel Publication in conjunction with I-Cube Limited have fixed a date for the forthcoming Lagos Airport Marathon.

The one-day Lagos Airport Marathon will hold on 1 November.

Speaking at the official unveiling of the logo of the competition held recently in Lagos, Managing Director of I-Cube Limited, an Advertising Agency, Okonji Patrick, said his agency is working round the clock to get sponsors and make the event a memorable one.

He disclosed that they are expecting 25 athletes to take part in the event,  adding that the registration forms will soon be available at the Airport premises.

“Our job is to provide the logistics for the event because we are partnering with Business Travel Publication which is the chief organiser of the tournament,” he said

The Media officer of I-CUBE Ltd, Wellington Amadasun, said the event will live up to expectations, adding that a lot of Nigerian youths have shown interest in the event.

He, however, said the company still needs more sponsors in order to organise a successful marathon event.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria,FAAN Richard Aisuebeogun said the marathon will help Nigerians youths to keep their body fit ahead of the subsequent competitions.

“It is going to be a fun for Nigerian youth and I am sure that best athletes will emerge the winner at the end of the day. The FAAN will continue to give their support as part of our contribution to the sport development in Nigeria,” he said.
